untitled (how to)
My process looks something like this: I write freely in a notebook when I can; every so often, I look through the notebook, and when I find something that interests me, I type it up; some of those typed up pieces are edited and put on this blog; some of those pieces (and others that have been typed up but not blogged) are edited (more) and added to a pool of pieces that may or may not enter a larger manuscript.
I started this blog a year ago when my child was four months old. I'm not sure what I was thinking. My child is now almost a year and a half old, and my time to write or edit or post or pool has been severely diminished by the joys (and pains) of parenthood.
There's a kind of lie in the first paragraph: I have several notebooks I've never sifted through for bits of inspiration or half-baked writing. But, lie or not, I still don't have much time to go spelunking there.
My child is currently napping, and that hour is almost up. One never knows though: The nap could last longer than an hour. Then what?
