hello again

For ten-plus years, I wrote a blog called rocket to nowhere.[1] Lately, I've been missing that blog. Or maybe not missing that blog, but missing having a public place to put words and ideas and photographs online that isn't "social media" or overrun with/by algorithms[2] So this is that. A place. It is not an homage to Steely Dan.[3] It will not have a theme.[4] It will not attempt to monetize itself or anything else. It will not be concerned with SEO or number of visitors.[5] It will not venture much further than this into the realm of manifesto.[6]

  1. rocket to nowhere got hacked by some weird pharma thing, and blogs were dying anyway, and I thought maybe I should do something else somewhere else, and, in that atmosphere, it was easier to kill that blog than try to fix it. ↩︎

  2. Wait, what? What isn't steeped in algorithms these days? ↩︎

  3. But it's not not an homage to Steely Dan (either the band or the dildo). ↩︎

  4. Other than whatever themes it eventually has, which remain to be seen. ↩︎

  5. Though its author might, upon occasion, wonder how many people are reading along. ↩︎
